The Žižkov Television Tower is the highest (216 metres) landmark in Prague, built between 1984 and 1989 (fully functional and completed after the Velvet Revolution in 1992). There are many critics of this uniquely designed but ugly tower situated in the historical heart of Prague. It stands high above the city’s traditional skyline from its position on top of a hill in the district of Žižkov, from which it takes its name.
If you wish to enjoy great dining with a stunning panoramic view of the city, two speedy lifts will take you to the top of the tower. On a good day, visitors can see mountains over 100km away.
