Cheap restaurants are not hard to find, and there are quite a few even in the city centre. Most of them serve delicious Czech, Italian or American style dishes.
The Czech cuisine offers unique dishes, though not always very healthy. From the numerous Czech bread varieties -at least a dozen to the classic onion and potato soup -usually served as the main course, the Czech cuisine is tasty and very nutritious (but you might find it quite heavy for your stomach). Amongst most famous Czech dishes are Czech dumplings, usually prepared with beef or fish dough, but also with fruit dough. Another dish that tourists often try is the carp, the ‘national fish’ par excellence. The dearest meat specialities are usually made of duck or goose meat prepared in different ways and usually accompanied by a sauce made out of dill and horseradish.
