As in other parts of Europe, Prague is adopting more and more of the American lifestyle of quick eating. Hamburgers, kebabs, fish and chips-style eateries, Chinese quick food restaurants and street-selling food are spread all over Prague. Sometimes the irresistible smells will totally charm your nose, and it would really be a loss not to try the grilled sausages served with dark bread and mustard, the traditional Czech potato pancake – Bramborak – or the fried cheese in a bun (Smazeny Syr). All this offers a truly Czech experience. Locals frequent the booths during the day, while visitors tend to make late-night visits while waiting for the night trams to arrive or after late-night partying. There are also stands selling gyros shawarma, jacket potatoes, pastries, sandwiches, and typical spiced wine (mulled wine), which goes well, especially during the cold months. Just one word of advice – count well, and do not pay with large bills, as there have been some reports about tourist rip-offs by Ukrainian employees selling food at Wenceslas Square stalls.
