The atmosphere of a beautiful blossom garden can be felt by Prague’s visitors when strolling around Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square during Easter. There are about 90 Easter market stalls on Old Town Square and 60 on Wenceslas Square and other food stalls. During the Easter holidays, there is a programme scheduled for every day (for example, there will be an oyster-opening competition and a rabbit race). There will also be a workshop for children, providing the youngest ones with the possibility to braid switches into so-called “pomlázky” (birch rods) and dye eggs. Daily cultural street events will be held, usually from 4 pm.
Markets are a great place not only to taste delicious Czech sausages, jacket potatoes, crepes, sweets, trdelnik (leavened dough, sugar, almonds and nuts baked on a rolling wheel) but also to buy some souvenirs, Easter eggs, puppets, ceramic and glass etc.
The markets will be there until 11th April, and on that day there will be a folk orchestra performance. Market stalls are open daily from 9 am till 7 pm and during the weekends until 8 pm.
